TALL Activity Documentation
Project description and scope
When I worked for an organization that created language learning software, I was responsible for creating more than 100 documents detailing the design of the language instruction activities.
Output types and deliverables
This documentation was HTML-based and designed to be viewed from a web browser.
Tools used
I originally designed in HTML using Dreamweaver MX. Screen shots were edited with PhotoShop 7. The image above (and the PDF file linked below) are from the browser-rendered output.
Skills showcased
I was the writer and layout designer for this project. I led a team of writers who followed the style I set to create and maintain all 100+ documents that were part of this project.
Writing sample information
The document was originally designed to be used by different audiences. The Instructional Purpose section was to give a pedagogical overview of the activity to instructors and other program administrators. Due to that audience, the end-users are referred to in the third person. The remaining sections were directed to the end users, and are thus written to the users imperatively. (The end users never saw the first section.)
Portions of this document have been removed because of non-disclosure agreements.
